Privacy Policy

Vancouver · BC
How we handleyour information.

Fast Locksmith Vancouver takes your privacy seriously. This page explains what personal information we collect when you call us or book a service, how we use it, and who we share it with — in plain English.

Who we are

Fast Locksmith Vancouver is a mobile locksmith service operating across Vancouver, BC and the surrounding Metro region. Our website is www.fastlocksmithvancouver.com. For privacy questions, you can reach us by phone at 604-227-9083 or through our contact page. This policy applies to information collected through this website and when you contact us directly to book or enquire about a locksmith service.

Information we collect

We collect personal information only when you provide it to us. The types of information we may collect include:

  • Contact details — your name, phone number, and email address when you fill out a booking or contact form.
  • Service address — the address where you need locksmith work done, so a technician can reach you.
  • Job description — notes you provide about the type of service needed (e.g. lockout, rekey, car key replacement).
  • Payment information — we do not store card details on our servers. Payment is handled at the point of service or through a third-party processor.
  • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit) collected automatically when you visit this website. We use this only to understand site performance.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers, financial account details, or health information.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide for one purpose: delivering the locksmith service you requested and communicating with you about it. Specifically, we may use your information to:

  • Confirm and schedule a service call or booking.
  • Dispatch a licensed technician to your address.
  • Contact you if we need to clarify details about the job or your location.
  • Send a follow-up message (by phone or email) if you have an open or incomplete booking.
  • Comply with applicable BC and Canadian law, including PIPEDA obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

Who we share your information with

We share the minimum necessary information only with parties directly involved in delivering your service:

  • Our technicians — the licensed locksmith assigned to your call receives your name, address, and job description so they can find you and do the work.
  • Scheduling and dispatch software — we use a job management system to coordinate bookings. Your contact and service details are stored in that system. We select tools that provide appropriate data security.
  • Payment processors — if you pay by card, your payment details pass through a PCI-compliant third-party processor. We do not see or retain your card number.
  • Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by a court order, law enforcement request, or other valid legal process under Canadian law.

No other sharing occurs. We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact information to marketing companies or data brokers.

Cookies and analytics

This website may use standard analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on site, general geographic region. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We use functional cookies to keep the booking form working correctly. These are strictly necessary and do not track you across other websites. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are placed by us.

Data retention

We keep service records (your contact details, address, job notes) for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the service and for standard business record-keeping purposes. In practice, this means we may retain basic job records for several years to handle warranty follow-ups or disputes. Usage logs are typically retained for 90 days, then deleted.

If you would like your information removed from our records, contact us and we will delete what we can, subject to any legal retention obligations (for example, accounting or tax records).

Your rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and BC's PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and how it is used.
  • Request access to your personal information.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent for us to use your information (where consent is the legal basis), with the understanding that withdrawal may prevent us from completing a service.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us by phone at 604-227-9083 or through the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our website is served over HTTPS. Booking and contact form data is transmitted over encrypted connections. We limit access to personal data to staff and contractors who need it to do their jobs.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do our best, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party links

This website may contain links to third-party sites — for example, Google Maps for directions or a payment processor's portal. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the date at the bottom of this page. If the changes are significant, we will take steps to notify you (for example, by posting a notice on the site). We encourage you to review this page periodically.
