Areas We Serve

Vancouver · BC
City limits, the peninsula, plus four cities.

Fast Locksmith Vancouver works the City of Vancouver, plus the private homes and cars out on the UBC peninsula past the city line, then Burnaby, Richmond, New Westminster and Coquitlam. The area pages below carry the street-level detail. This page covers what holds true everywhere in the zone: what rides in the truck, what dispatch needs from you before it moves, and no trip fee for an address inside the boundary.

► 01 / Territory

Vancouver locksmith coverage zone

The price does not change across this territory. What changes is which crossing sits between you and the nearest truck, and who has to open something before the technician can reach the lock.

The zone is the City of Vancouver, the residential end of the UBC peninsula west of the city line, and Burnaby, Richmond, New Westminster and Coquitlam. Drawn on a map it is not a circle. It is a peninsula, a run east along Burrard Inlet, and a crossing south over the Fraser, with water through the middle of all of it. Two addresses eight kilometres apart can share an arrival window while two addresses three kilometres apart do not, because the number that moves is the crossing, not the mileage.

Bridges, arterials and arrival times

Everything on the downtown peninsula sits behind Burrard, Granville or Cambie, and all three feel the Georgia and Granville backup at evening rush. The west side is reached overland instead, on West 4th, 16th, 41st and SW Marine Drive. Kerrisdale sits where 41st, Arbutus and West Boulevard meet, so a truck can come at it from three directions, and daytime calls there are usually met inside twenty minutes, while the same address late at night runs 25-35. Richmond is the Oak Street Bridge or the Arthur Laing. New Westminster comes in off Canada Way or the Pattullo corridor, with Queensborough on its own bridge. Coquitlam is the Lougheed Highway corridor the whole way out to the Town Centre. Dispatch quotes from that map rather than from a straight line on a screen.

Lock hardware carried on the truck

A zone holding pre-war houses on the west side, post-war bungalows on the east side, and the new towers going up at Oakridge Park puts two separate families of hardware in the same van. One is modern bored prep: Schlage B-series, Kwikset, Weiser, and Medeco cylinders for owners who want copying controlled. The other is what an older door actually takes: mortise bodies and the right backset plates for heritage houses like the ones around Barclay Heritage Square, plus re-pinning stock for the Legacy and Weiser keyways worn thin in the West End concrete blocks of the 1970s and 1980s. Automotive blanks and programming tools ride alongside both, so a car key gets cut at the kerb where the car is sitting. There is no counter to drive to. The fleet is trucks.

What dispatch needs before a truck moves

An address on its own is often not enough here. The usual reason a twenty-minute arrival turns into forty is not traffic. It is ten minutes spent on the wrong side of something nobody was told to open. Three details settle that, and all three go faster on the phone than in a driveway.

Which door. Name the entrance you are standing at, not only the street number. A single lot in Vancouver often carries a front entry, a side suite door and a lane door, and the keys behind them are rarely one key.

Who lets the technician in. Anything with a lobby, a caretaker or a gated parkade needs a person at your end, because nothing on the truck opens a building we do not look after.

Where the car is. The structure, the level, and the nearest stall number. Signal underground is patchy enough that it is worth saying before you head back down to wait.

Response windows by area

The twenty-minute figure quoted across the rest of this site is an average, and it hides a real spread. The West End and Commercial Drive sit at the quick end, 15-25 minutes. Most of the city runs 20-30. New Westminster is 25-35. Burke Mountain and Westwood Plateau up in Coquitlam are 25-40, because the last stretch of that drive is uphill on residential streets. Late at night the eastern half of the zone gets faster rather than slower, with the bridges and the Broadway corridor clear. Every area page publishes its own window. Ask for yours on the phone and you get that number instead of the average.

Where the coverage zone ends

It ends at the list, not at the city line. On the western edge the city boundary runs along Pacific Spirit Regional Park, and we carry on past it for private property only: the leasehold condos at Wesbrook Village and Hampton Place, the freehold houses in the University Endowment Lands, and cars out at the far end of the peninsula. Doors the university itself controls, including residence rooms and card access, stay with UBC, and the UBC and endowment lands page sets out that line in full. Anywhere not named on this page is outside the zone. If that is your address, say so when you call and you get a straight answer rather than a truck that was never going to make the window.

  • Quoted on the phone before a truck moves, and the quote is what you pay
  • No trip fee for an address inside the coverage zone
  • Licensed BC locksmiths on every call, never a subcontractor
  • Keys cut and transponders programmed at the kerb, not at a shop counter
  • Most jobs close on the first visit because the parts are already in the van
  • Answered by a person at any hour, including the small ones

Twenty-one area pages, each carrying the street names, the building stock and the access quirks that are true there and not one neighbourhood over.

Locksmith services across the zone

Every one of these runs everywhere in the coverage area. The arrival window changes with the address. The service list does not.
