► 12 / Questions

Pricing questions

More on the FAQ page.

01

Why ranges and not fixed prices?

Two jobs with the same name are rarely the same job. A lockout on an older suite deadbolt and one on a restricted cylinder share a word and little else.

02

When do I hear the total?

On the call, before anyone is sent. It only changes if the job turns out different from the one described. Then the work stops and you decide.

03

Is a phone quote of $15 to $35 for a lockout real?

No. A low phone number followed by a much larger bill at the door is a well-known locksmith scam. A licensed locksmith gives a realistic figure up front.

04

Can I buy the lock myself and have you fit it?

Yes, where it suits the door. Fitting a smart lock you already bought is $80–$130 on a bored door. Check the model with us before you buy.
