Commercial Drive is one street with several kinds of door on it.
The Drive runs through Grandview-Woodland with independent shops and cafés at street level, older houses split into suites on the side streets, and newer strata buildings mixed in. The lock problem depends on which of those you are standing at.

Securing a shopfront after a break-in
After a break-in the lock is only part of it. The strike plate and jamb often take the damage, so we check them and make the door lock again.
We can then talk through sturdier hardware if the old lock was part of the problem.
One key for the front, back and storeroom
A shop with several doors and several keys can be put on one master key system, with a different key level for staff and for the owner.
When someone leaves, the locks are rekeyed and the old key stops working.

01Our café on the Drive was broken into overnight. What can you do?
We can secure the door and replace or repair the lock so you can lock up. We also check the frame and strike plate, since break-ins often damage those more than the lock. Call 604-227-9083 and say it is a break-in. Arrival is confirmed on the call.
02How much is a shopfront lockout?
It depends on the lock, the door and the hour. The total for your shop is confirmed on the call, before anyone heads out.
03I rent a suite in a heritage house. Can you rekey it without my landlord there?
Check with your landlord first, since they decide who changes the locks on a rental. If you are simply locked out, we can open the door once you show you live there.
04Can you work on an old mortise lock?
Often, yes. We look at the lock first, then tell you whether to open, rekey or replace it. Call to describe the lock if you are unsure.
05I live in a strata unit near the Drive. Can you copy the fob?
No. The fob and any parkade or common-area key belong to your strata or property manager, and we never copy or program building fobs. Your own unit key we can copy at the door.
06Do you come to me on the Drive?
Yes. The technician brings the tools to your shop or house door on or near the Drive.
