Why does my bungalow door stick?
In older wood-frame houses the frame moves with the seasons. The bolt then stops lining up with the strike plate, and the deadbolt gets hard to turn.
Bolt will not line up
Often the strike plate or hinges need adjusting, not the lock. A hinge reset pulls the door back into the frame. See door repair.
Lock itself is worn
If the key drags even with the door open, the cylinder is the problem. A rekey or a new cylinder fixes it.
